C.Lee Clarke

C.Lee Clarke was born in Millington Tennessee,just outside Memphis.on a hot august night. His parents divorced when he was only a baby, so he spent his childhood concurrently in California, with his mother, and in Nevada with his father. This brought the diversity of the San Francisco Bay area, to union with the rural ,independence of northern Nevada Perhaps this led to his schiziod approach to music. Some twenty years ago when he was the lead singer in WESTERN SKIE'S. He had just disbanded his successful cowpunk trio OUCHCUBE with bassist Ric Vining , to merge with the Skies. They recorded"Quite Sleep" ,Western Skies. It along with Ouchcubes"New Deal", was never released. Songs from the latter did appear in the off hollywood cult classic Film "NAZI SURF PUNKS MUST DIE" (original cut). Skie's disbanded in 87 , and C.Lee joined the army, perhaps, to kick a drug habit. I think the answer to any questions that you might ask of him can be found in one of his songs. He has written over 400 of them. Some good. Some great. Some better forgotten. His influences are evident, and some may be flattered ,by his renditions of their songs in his live performances. He has a way of making a song his own , without diminishing the original. He has trice been nominated for the Grammy Award. He has worked as an entertainer for,Gov.Arnold Schwarzennegger, The New York Ren. Festival (tuxedo). The Cailifornia Ren. Festival(L.H.C.nothern and southern), The Colorado Ren Fest.The City of Manitou Springs Co. (Lic. street performer). Bill Graham Prouductions. He performed regularly at the FOOTHILL BAR, in Long Beach Cal. as singer,and acoustic guitarist with the legendary AL BRUNO & THE TENNESSEANS.,The Front Range Music Assc., , The Black Rose Acoustic Society, U.C.S.F., B.Y.U., U.C.L.B., Albuquerque Public School System, Colorado Public School System, .and at many benefits , for worthy causes. He is a single father, A poet , painter, teacher, chef, and a bit of a clown. He has worked for several publications ,including, P C World, Mac world, Saddleback Valley News.
