The name is Nook. It’s a simple one syllable name, but don’t get it misunderstood because the character traits are the exact opposite of this young puerto rican/ hawaiian. Nook is a dynamic individual with a multifaceted personality. Nook, 21, born in Bethesda, Maryland a Navy brat gave him the perspective from different areas of the country, and the more influential being South Bronx, New York City where he spent majority of his childhood summer vacations writing in an apartment on Saint Mary's Park. There he would finnally discover his passion and drive for music. He's been taught that if one uses the talents in which God has given to you, then you will thrive to excellence. Starting out in the basement of his home in Dale City, Virginia on a Kareoke machine. At the age of 12 he wrote and completed his first single and shortly after came the album. At the time it was fun, he wasn't aware that this hobby might one day sprout into a career. Nook's father took note of it too.He started getting him shows and began investing in a higher quality Kareoke machine. (just kidding.) He invested in a studio with adobe edition, a mic, a semi-sound proof booth, and everything else an aspiring local rapper could dream of using to develop. During that time it was September 11th . Nook's father was one of the many firefighters who was inside the fiery pits of the Pentagon explosion. Along with his family Nook hadn’t heard from him for days, which left him devastated. The September 11th song he dedicated to his father, truly sparked his career as an artist. He then realized he writes his best whenever he's under heavy emotions or pressure. Thorugh his ability to change his wordplay and his flow he has become one of the most diverse artist to hit the music scene. That natural talent has enabled Nook to be an excellent lyricist. He started getting really good at this music thing to where he found himself, editing, writing, producing, and performing every weekend. In the summer of 2005 he performed no-less than 205 shows! Along the way he has won numerous awards and competitions along the lines of the 2003 Unsigned Hype Award, at the Indie Music Awards in New York City he was awarded the Best Group Performance along side his brother and protoge, Millenium Talents Award, and more recently The 2007 Best Hip Hop Group Award. Music was his life. He'd wake up to it, and go to sleep doing it. " Getting to know me is priceless. I have and have always had a strong passion for my music since I was ten years old. On both of my arms I have tattoos of a microphone and the four artist who had tragic deaths in which two of them, Notorious B.I.G and 2Pac left a tragic scar on the industry. My tatoos are permanent and so is my love for music. I love being on stage where I can truly take over. My performances grasp every audience and my sound grabs every listener. I feed off love and hate." Approaching his prime Nook (now 21) dug through the vaults of his own material in order to analyze his distinct style and is now launching his solo career. Although there has been much debate on the subject of who is or who isn't capable of delivering style, swagger, delivery, and longevity in one package, to say the least Nook definatley poses the ability to do so.
