At 24, Rishi Das is an accomplished and yet amateur pianist, composer and singer. Although his forté is mostly his piano and vocal compositions, Rishi is known to be a versatile composer and artist. Growing up surrounded by his mother's amazing singing, his father's harmonica, his brother's guitar, and an overall and yet familiar love for music, Rishi has nurtured his talents into compositions reflecting the mind, body, and soul. Since his first written composition - written in 3rd grade, Rishi's music has gone through many different stages; his compositions continuing to mature with each new physical move, state of mind, and each of life's changes.
In 2003, soon after the live premier of his first SATB [Soprano/alto/tenor/bass] choral piece, Vision of Humanity (SATB, Piano, Cello), Rishi distributed his first album, Table for Two, making his name familiar within his high school community. As a new resident of the NoVA/DC area, Rishi plans to continue his composing, whether it be by piano, guitar, orchestral arrangements, and/or vocals. Currently, Rishi is writing his music out in scores during his evenings, while working at a consulting firm during the day, volunteering as Assistant Director of the South Asian Performing Arts Network and Institutes' Performance Company, actively volunteering at the Human Rights Campaign, and enjoying DC in the evenings and weekends.
