I have now found my absolute purpose in life... my husband and my son.

About Me

Hello everyone, My name is Diana Molumby (formerly Porter). I'm 24 years old, and am currently living in Quantico, Virginia for another three year tour as a "Wife of the Corps". My husband, Loren, is a United States Marine- he's been in for over eight years now. He is an AMAZING man who has served his country with the utmost bravery and loyalty- the true portrait of an American patriot. I feel so blessed to be married to him- he is someone I respect and admire tremendously, and I would give my life for him in a heart beat... Our first baby boy, Landon Hamilton Molumby, was born on March 24, 2007. This baby is my WORLD... he is the reason I have the strength to get out of bed every morning... his smile alone heals my soul, and he gives me more reasons than anything else ever could to keep fighting the good fight against my Lupus. Without him, I don't know where I would be now, or how I would keep my strong resolve to battle this disease head-on. He is the most BEAUTIFUL and PERFECT baby in the world. He loves to just stare at everything around him- he just takes in the world... his wide eyes filled completely with wonder. He has a smile that could melt an iceburg! Everytime he smiles at me, my heart skips a beat and I am filled with nothing but pure love and joy. If ever I doubted having any real purpose on this earth, those feelings are forever vanished now. Just one look into my son's incredible blue eyes, and my purpose is all I see. I LOVE HIM!!!I am VERY CLOSE to my parents. They have served as my anchors and sanity on more occasions than I can recall. I talk to them almost daily, and they are more like best friends than "parents" in the traditional sense of the word. When all seems lost and hopeless, they are who I turn to to get back to the light. I don't know what I would do without them!!! We have two adorable dogs as well. Chance, a miniature fox terrier mix, is hyper-active, funny, therapeutic, and he is so human-like it scares me! The other little guy is named Rambo, and for good reason. We're not completely certain on exactly WHAT breeds are in him, but we know he is part dachsund, chihuahua, and perhaps a bull terrier of sorts... Rambo may be a small fry, but he definitely lives up to his name- in all the best possible ways. He is fiercly protective of our family- ESPECIALLY Landon, and he has assigned himself as Landon's personal bodyguard- on call 24/7, 365 days a year, and he doesn't even take holidays off...lol! Our dogs are like kids to us. We love them as we love family members, and they are a constant source of amusement and joy. I don't really know how to describe myself because I believe everyone sees each person differently. I would like to believe people see me as quirky, stong-willed, determined, compassionate, passionate, loyal, and overall genuine. That's about I'll I can think to say right now... Oh wait- one more thing: PLEASE SUPPORT LUPUS RESEARCH!!! SOMEONE YOU KNOW HAS LUPUS!!! If we all come together and do our part- no matter how "small"- we will be THAT much closer to finding a CURE!!!

I'd like to meet:

People to be friends with and to chat with... NOTHING MORE obviously since I am married. But just because I'm married doesn't mean I'm no fun or have dropped completely off the "cool" meter. I am always open to meet new people, discuss most any topic, and just enjoy listening to another's perspective. Also, it'd be really cool to get in contact with old friends I've lost touch with over the years!!! Oh, and of course, I would love to meet other people with Lupus as well. I have found that just knowing you're not alone- that others out there understand the daily struggles that come with this horrific disease- well, it just helps a lot to have a support network... anyone with Lupus will understand the "gibberish" sentence above...lol!

Music:

Just about anything honestly..., but a few examples: Staind, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry, Loreena McKennit, Sarah McLachlan, Dixie Chicks, LeeAnn Womack, the songs "This Woman's Work" and "Amazing Grace", Andrea Bacelli, Beatles, "WOW Christian Songs Gold" two-disc Album, Grey's Anatomy soundtrack, "A Walk to Remember" soundtrack, Jimmy Eat World, "Romeo and Juliet" Soundtrack, Nickleback, Enya (for when I am drawing or painting), "Save the Last Dance" soundtrack, "The Phantom of the Opera", "Fiddler on the Roof"... See, I told you it was all different types! There are so may more that I cannot think of at this time, but I think you have a decent understanding...

Movies:

Crash, Fahrenheit 9/11, A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, Fight Club, Full Metal Jacket, Kill Bill, Forrest Gump, Pearl Harbor, Chicago, The Blue Collar Comedy Tour movies, The Sixth Sense, Sweet Home Alabama, Dead Like Me (both seaons on DVD), Family Guy (have all 4 seasons on DVD so far), United 93 (America should NEVER forget...), EuroTrip, and so many more that there isn't enough space to put them all...

Television:

24!, The Unit, Ghost Whisperer, NUMB3RS, CSI: Las Vegas, and Miami, House, Bones, Law and Order SVU, Family Guy, Desperate Housewives, That 70's Show, Without a Trace, Cold Case, Grey's Anatomy, American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Last Comic Standing, American Inventor, and a couple more I can't think of right now...

Books:

Every "Parenting-type" magazine you can imagine!!!, The Chicken Soup series, "The Hiding Place", "When Will Jesus Bring the Porkchops?", "The Good Earth", "Unsolved Crimes", "Prescription Drug Guide, 2005", "American Medical Association Family Healthcare Guide", "All About Us" (a really fun learning experience about you and your partner- I highly reccomend it), "A Dog's Wisdom", "A Child is Born", "Petspeak" my extensive magazine collection that includes: "Cosmopolitan", "Glamour", "For Me", "All You", "US Weekly", "Allure", etc... Truth be told, most of my days are spent reading, so this list is just the TIP of the iceburg!!!

Heroes:

My dad, who has been the single greatest source of strength and guidance my entire life thus far; he is my anchor. My mom, who has been a great shining light in my life, and the person I go to when I just need someone to listen and say they care; she in a major source of inspiration. My lovely friend Mandee, who has stuck by my side despite some very tough times for nearly 12 years! She deserves the award for the most loyal, non-judgemental, and caring person. Without her, I do not believe I would be as well off mentally as I am today. I love you, girl! I have to add my PRECIOUS son, Landon, to this list now. Even though he is just a baby, he really is a hero to me. He has given me all the purpose I could have ever asked for, and then some! I can't imagine my life or this world without him... there are not enough words in the universe to describe my love for him and to "thank" him for saving my life on SO MANY accounts. As one of my quotes goes, "The most dangerous place in all the world is between a mother and her child."- All I can say is that if ANYONE EVER harmed my son, they would feel a wrath come down on them like nothing this earth has EVER seen... Landon is my heartbeat, my oxygen, and the biggest reason I have to ALWAYS keep faith in God and in my life no matter how bad things get... I can't even remember what my life was like before him- how did I ever survive??? Last, but DEFINITELY NOT LEAST, my beautiful, strong, and kind husband, Loren, who is the greatest example of overcoming so much evil and bad in life despite all the odds being against him. He is a truly remarkable man that I respect and admire more than words could ever hope to convey. He is my polar opposite, but when we work together, we are the strongest team that exists. He takes care of me when I fall ill, and is one of the main reasons I am able to get up each morning and perservere through my trials- he has saved me on so many accounts, and to just say thank you, seems so inadequite. My husband is also an amazing Marine, and is one of the truly good, loyal, moral, and overall examples of what a Marine is supposed to be. And to all the other brave souls who fight to keep our freedom and to help others attain it, I give a very large warm-hearted "Thank You" to you as well. We truly are the Land of the Free, because of the Brave, and all of you have proven that... God Bless You All and God Bless America! Quick P.S.- TO ALL MY FRIENDS WITH LUPUS OR OTHER CHRONIC ILLNESSES... YOU ALL INSPIRE ME AND I AM IN AWE OF YOUR STRENGTH THROUGH THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE! THANK YOU FOR CARING SO MUCH FOR ME WITHOUT EVER HAVING MET ME! Gail... I don't know HOW you do all you do for the ALR, but God blessed this world when he created you, and I KNOW you have AMAZING things awaiting you in life- you truly are heroic to me!!! THANK YOU ALL!!!
