Professional Poker & Blackjack Player, Musician, Promoter, Entertainment Industry Executive.
Starting in 1978 as the lead vocalist for a hard rock band based in Houston, Texas. Realizing that a recording contract is hard to achieve in Texas, I moved at the age of 16 to Hollywood, CA to pursue a career in the music industry.
Within months of arriving in L.A., I formed Royal Rock Productions, a concert promotion firm producing shows at the world famous Roxy Theatre, The Whisky a Go Go, The Country Club, and Gazzarris. Additional shows were produced at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, The Palace, Perkins Palace and the Long Beach Arena.
At that time, the Sunset Strip was the center of the Rock n Roll universe. I promoted many bands who went superstardom and many that should have been stars. Bands like Ratt, Bon Jovi, Poison, Motley Crue, Guns n Roses, Warrant, Great White, Quiet Riot, London, Faster Pussycat, Yngwie Malmsteen, Dokken, Black n Blue, Stryper, Odin, Lillian Axe, Rockway, VVSI, and many more.
As the LA scene began to die out, I moved to Hawaii and continued my promotion career uniting the celebrities and music industry connections that I had established. I produced celebrity based fundraising events such as Celebrity Golf, Celebrity Tennis and Celebrity/Rock & Roll Softball events that benefited local organizations such as Big Brothers & Sisters, the Muscular Dystrophy Assn., Police & Fire Organizations and the Shriner's Burn Hospital.
Based in Las Vegas since 2005, Michael Eakman Events produces Celebrity Golf & Poker Events as well as Consumer Expositions and Trade Shows. Our signature events are the Playboy Mansion Celebrity Poker Tournament. The National Celebrity Poker Championships, The Civil Air Patrol Legends of Aviation Awards and the Spirit of Philanthropy Awards.
Michael Eakman Entertainment is the music promotion, band management, concert promotion and recording division of the business. We are currently seeking artists and bands from a wide variety of musical styles for consideration of management and recording contract options.
