**..SCRIPTURE FOR THE TIME BEING...CHEW ON IT...James 1:2-4 Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.***
I don't listen to pretty much anything anymore. Ever since April 21st I try not to listen to anything that compromises the Kingdom of God. I started by completely cutting myself off from secular music for a week. It was incredably hard, but totally worth it. I highly recomend this. You will be amazed at the change mainly in attitude but also in your desire to grow deeper in the Lord. There is so much darkness, hatetrid, sex, drugs, ect. in todays music just think about what would happen if that wasn't constantly playing in your ears. Our ears are so clogged we can't even hear God's voice anymore. He desires to speak to us moment by moment, not just when we are in prayer or ministering to people.
I honestly am not a big movie person. I'd rather spend that time with someone. Why sit and stare at a screen with someone for 2 hours, when you can spend that time laughing and talking and doing crazy stuff together. That's when the strength of a friendship is built. Besides most of the movies today are filled with such garbage, you just end up defiling yourself. Our vision is so clouded, we don't know what it is like to truely see. Our eyes were made to gaze upon the Lord's glory... the majestic beauty of God. And we can't see it because our vision is consumed by worldy passions.
