FEAST OR FAMINE

Feast or Famine started out in April of 2001 with the intent to bring hardcore crust punk out of the ashes. In the sea of non-DIY emo and metallic hardcore(especially in the midwest) we wanted to come out with a band that took influences from the likes of locals acts Negative Approach and international bands like Mob 47 and the like. Some pissed, fast, and fucking angry thrash...the way it was meant to be! Over the summer of 2001 in our early existence, we played many shows, supporting touring bands like DS-13, Diskonto, What happens next?, Onward to Mayhem, amongst others. In July of 2001, we recorded a demo entitled "thrash crust night '01" in 45 minutes. Quite raw and noisy, I believe it was recorded on a 4 track from what I remember. Feast or Famine put out their first vinyl release called "Negative Reflections" EP on Nonsense Recordings in late 2001. Properly titled from day to day living in the industrial abandoned wastelands of Detroit. W went on the road for the small "End it All" midwest/west coast tour in June of 2002. Winter of 2002 we went back into the studio and recorded the "Assembly of Extinction" Split LP with Social Outcast for Battlkry Records. During our 2 year existence FOF booked 80% of their own shows we were banned from a few places from a few incidents on stage and the crowd we drew tended to cause too much of a ruckus for most venues. All in all, we made more enemies than friends and we wouldn't have wanted it any other way....I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
