Having always thought main-stream music was a bad idea, I went to a few CDH shows in Edinburgh, read some stuff online, and thought long and hard about music. I now think that anyone who makes money from their art isn't worth listening to.
However, Myspace is good for bands networking. One of the reasons the DIY underground is so great is that finding new bands isn't always easy. There are a lot of cool people and collectives out there. But their general mistrust and dislike of mainstream media means few are easy to find. Having a profile here means I can get together a collection of people with similar views, and also find some great music.
