BIOGRAPHY
The last eighteen months have moved pretty fast for Alan Fitzpatrick. His rapid ascent from new kid on the techno block to a highly respected and in-demand producer was one of the success stories of 2008. Productions like 9 Hours Later and Mai Yin on his own 8 Sided Dice Recordings label and remixes of John Digweed & Nick Muir’s Aquatonic and Misstress Barbara’s K10 for Bedrock were amongst the standout tracks of last year. With his reputation for deftly crafted and dynamic productions growing the recognition and good will shown to Alan has continued to flow from his peers and shows no signs of slowing in 2009. John Digweed, Carl Cox, Dubfire, Adam Beyer and Steve Angello have all made moves to associate themselves with Alan’s music while DJ Magazine has tipped him and his 8 Sided Dice Recordings label for great things.
On the production front, Alan's fresh-sounding and energetic music has been released on many leading labels. Adam Beyer selected an EP for Drumcode (Static / Rubiks), Len Faki is releasing a 3-track EP (Weed Killer / Science / No Religion) on his Figure label, D-Nox & Beckers have taken Payser for their Sprout imprint, King Unique’s Curfew are releasing Scatter Cushions and respected Spanish label Suara signed Silicone (a collaboration with Reset Robot). Alan has also completed remixes for Steve Angelo’s Size label, Paolo Mojo’s Oosh Records and Fergie’s Excentric Muzik.
DJ support for Alan and 8 Sided Dice has come from Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Pete Tong, Len Faki, Sven Vath, Christian Adam Smith, Fergie, Nic Fanciulli, John Digweed, Carl Cox, James Zabiela, Steve Angello, Stephan Bodzin, Joris Voorn, Sasha, Laurent Garnier and Slam, guaranteeing that his music has been played to crowds all over the world. Alan's own skills behind the decks are first class. A skilled and dynamic exponent with Abelton Live and Traktor Scratch, his big-room techno and tech house sound is in demand across Europe, USA and South America.
Radio play for Alan’s music on Pete Tong's 'Essential Selection', 'The Essential Mix' on BBC Radio 1, John Digweed's 'Transitions' and an 8 Sided Dice label feature on Carl Cox's ‘Global’ show (syndicated to 6 million listeners) have all enhanced Alan's reputation. Digweed went on to request a guest mix from him for his show in October 2008 and has become a major supporter commissioning an original production (“Reflectionsâ€), two Alan Fitzpatrick remixes and featuring Alan’s work on his Past, Present & Future compilation to celebrate 10 years of Bedrock Records.
Already ten releases in, Alan’s 8 Sided Dice Recordings receives fantastic DJ support and has established itself as an attractive brand to high profile artists. In addition to original tracks and remixes from Alan himself, 8 Sided Dice has featured productions from Heiko Laux, Fergie, Reset Robot, Paolo Mojo, Nihil Young, Miniminds, Pirupa & Pigi, Andrea Crestani, Rocha & Lewinger, Erphun and D-Nox & Beckers. Tracks from 8 Sided Dice have been licensed to compilations from Global Underground (Nic Fanciulli), Toolroom (Mark Knight) and Red Light District (Anthony Pappa).
