groovetop

GroovetopIs an experimental musical project, found by Richard R. Fuhrmann and Martin Riegelnegg, to simply play the music we like without being put in some kind of stylistical corner, just to have a space for musical-freedom and creativity. (But as you see even on myspace you have to select some kind of style, that was inevitable;).Basically we act as groovetop in three different formations:1.) As groovetop-electronics : Martin and Richard performing live with note-books and samples. 2.) The groovetop- live, plus electronics: In this formation Stephan Padinger (bass) and Valentin Schuster (drums) join us for playing some live dance-music.3.) The groovetop-experimental: Could be called more Jazz-oriented but takes in a lot of elements of Rock-Fusion and World-music.The name groovetop has a nice story to tell: Martin and me didn´t know how we should actually call our project, so right then we were rehearsing at a rooftop so what are we doing on the rooftop? Right, grooving so we mixed the two words and suddenly groovetop was born.
