Ahmet Tekbilek (Haci) was born in Adana, a town in southern Turkey.
He was given the nickname Haci by his father, who had hoped he would make the pilgrimage
to Mecca.
At age 15 , while working as a tailor"sapprentice, he found a ney (Turkish flute)
in the attic and has been playing ever since.
He attended the school for folk music in Adana and began playing locally.
At fifteen traveled to Istanbul with populer singer Nurunnisa Toksöz
and there he was taken under the wing of the influential Turkish jazz drummer BURHAN (Baba)TONGUC,
who taught him Turkish classical music.He quickly become one of Istanbul"s most sought after
studio musicians and worked with many of Turkey"s leading artists ,,including super stars
Sevim Tanurek ,Orhan Gencebay, Zeki Muren In 1974 Hsci moved to Sweden to work with the band Oriental Wind. He has travelled
extensively, performing the USA, Germany, France, Scandinavia, Israel,India, Egypt, Singapor and other countries.
Most recently he has worked as a music teacher in Stockholm and with the Swedish National Theater as well as the
Swedish National Consert Group.
The Steintryggur duet consists of two percussion players from Iceland.
Their cd Dialog was realesed in Europe in 21.Mars 2005.
Sigtryggur Baldursson is an Icelandic drummer and producer that has in the past been a founding member of the Sucarcubes and worked extensively with people like Bjork, Howie B, Emiliana Torrini,Les Négresses Vertes and othersSteini Gudmundsson is a tabla player from Iceland has been playing drums and percussion since early age. Moved to California early eighties to Study Tabla with his master Swapan Chauduri.
He has worked with many different artists and bands such as Suld,The Millioners, Fria Teatern,Bardukha,Bruce Hamm,The Incredible String Band.John Tichai and many others.
