She is renowned for her energetic, inspiring performances, sweet soulful vocals and conscious lyrics. She is currently working on her long awaited debut solo album, yet cemented herself as a key player in the NZ reggae scene.She has developed her own style of lover's rock which she intends to use to collaborate with emerging, reggae and hip hop artists to create and inspire the influences from local talent.Lei-D-Lee started her musical career at the tender age of 15 as a backing vocalist for renowned Maori singer-song writer from Hokianga, Hori Chapman (Ahurangi ) which then took her on a 3 year (crash course) stint on the road touring throughout Aotearoa’s main centers with Dalvenias Prime and†The Patea Maori Clubâ€, supporting bands such as Dave McCartney and the Pink Flamingos, Annie Crummer and Herbs, in and out of recording studios, TV and Radio shows, Venues, clubs and Pubs the list goes on.She has opened up for reggae greats Bad Boys of Reggae "Inner Circle" and UK own Maxi Priest. She has recorded a substantial amount of studio recordings with various renown NZ musicians and producers from backing vocals to featured vocals, voice-overs - Foley for film and television and much more. With over 20 years of dedication to the Reggae - Hip Hop scene in Aotearoa, her passion and determination has prepared her to record and promote her music nationally and internationally.Lei-D-Lee (leiana) is currently working @ MAINZ (Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand) as Student Support Liaison, her aim is to assist fellow musicians, bands, artists and CreatoRs into the WoRld of Entertainment.
