There are certain events that happen and are immediately identifiable as monumental. There is no doubt in my mind that Langston Hughes and Zora Neal Hurston were aware of the impact that the Harlem Renaissance would make. Charlie Parker and Nina Simone had to know of their greatness. Of course, no one can tell exactly how grand a thing will become. But we have feeling this one will be a doozie…___________________________________________________

________We got bricks, baby! If you were ever brave enough to venture to the Westside to attend the gatherings that sparked this movement you already know how we do. If you were one of those people who never really got around to coming through - I feel you. But let me fill you in on what you’ve missed._____________________________________________________
_________We’ve brought back the elevated couches that sit eight feet above the floor. There’s velvet and sheer draped from the ceilings and candles and exposed brick walls. We’ve hand carved tabletops with Scrabble boards… it is a “literary†caf..…And the floors are hardwoods that shine like glass and a stage that actually glows… I mean really glows… not just the talent. Connected to the GA State University’s bookstore, with a view of the Atlanta skyline, our huge bay windows stare into our backyard, which just happens to be the Apex Museum and The Auburn Avenue African American Research Library… Didn’t I just say that it was a “literary†cafe..…___________________________________________________
