LYNX was formed during the summer of 1991. The original members were Jack Lynx (vocals), Jason Collins aka Jason "Psycho" Thomas (Drums), Robbie Recoupero aka Robbie Lynx (guitars) and Tim Hayward aka Taz Roberts (guitars). Our first bass player, Livio Alberti, played with us on our first gig and was then replaced by A.J. Dizzy, who never made it to the stage with Lynx, but remains a close friend. We then recruited Tom Hayward aka Tommy Nichols of the band "Tickled Pink" (that he co-created with his lifelong friend Carmen) to be our permanent Bass player. Over the next few months, Lynx played different clubs and even won a battle of the bands in Salisbury, MA at the Escape Club (Also known as Sneakers and Chapter II). After opening for some national acts, the band finally got its first headlining gig at the Escape Club in April 1992. The show went well, but it was the last time that Taz Roberts would play in Lynx. He was briefly replaced by Paul "Happy" Hartigan, who played a gig with us at the Atlantic Lounge (soon to be renamed the Tank). Lynx moved on as a 4 piece band after that and played throughout the summer in a few more battle of the band shows, opened for "Sweet F.A." and "Lizzy Borden", had another headlining gig as well as a show at UMass Lowell. On October 30th of 1992, Lynx played its last show. It was a Halloween show, very similar to their first show as it was at the same venue as their first show (Umana) and almost one year to the day. Dawn Richfield (now known as Mz Diezel) lent her voice to a few songs that night also. After that show, Jason, Robbie and Tom moved on without Jack Lynx. They worked with many musicians and became the Missing Links and then Crash Course and then Mary Mack before finally disbanding for good several years later. Robbie Lynx (Currently of Severe Beach) continued playing throughout the years in bands such as “Johnny and the Po Boys” (with Lynx Drummer Jason Collins), “The Splatter Punks”, “King of the Rats”, “Fat Satchel” and “Cambridge 213”. Jason Collins joined Robbie in "Johnny and the Po Boys" for a while and has continued to play independently over the years. Tim Hayward played with Poet's & Madmen for a couple years and continues to shred to this day in recording projects. Tom Hayward also continues to play by filling in from time to time in his friend's bands. Jack Lynx started recording his own music in 1992 and continues to this day. He has played in "The Mizsin Lynx”, "Demented Obsession”, “Poets and Madmen” and is currently in the Iron Maiden Tribute band “Beast Over Boston”. LYNX, The band, didn't last for long, but the memories never faded and the friendships remain.
