"This new calédonian based band has been playing since 1990 in Nouméa the
capitol.
The 4 members of the band consist of lead singer Thierry who also plays
rythme guitar, on solo guitar
Eric Arial and brother patrick on the drums with Gilbert on Bass.
Using a wide variety of music, Shotgun perform mostly covers from U2,
INCUBUS, PINK FLOYD etc.
They have recently composed their own music and have over 10 new songs that they play in LIVE CONCERTS.
Shotgun is a reflection of the multicultural New caledonienne society mixing
different ethnic groups on stage.
Thierry voice is unriivalled on new caledonia.........as not many artists
can sing U2 without loosing their voice.
Shotgun have recently done their own vidéo clip that you can watch on this
site.
SHOTGUN have played in many music festivals, clubs and bars for the last
20 years"
Mike O'Flynn singer & leader Do Da JumpShotGun was born in highschool at the end of the 80’s, with the meeting of Eric « Rico » Eriale (guitar) and Thierry Maillot (vocal & guitar). « We were in the same classroom, singing and knocking on the table ». All self-made musicians and rock fanatics, the lineup is completed by Patrick Eriale (Eric’s brother) as drummer, Gilbert Seliman as bassist and, in the end of 2005 by Coralie Larrazet, talented Neo-Caledonian violonist. After beginnings in the family’s garage in the area of Rivière Salée, their set list move towards U2, Incubus or Red Hot Chili Peppers’ songs. The band is known thanks to many shows in bars and pubs of the capital of New-Caledonia, Noumea.
Nowadays, ShotGun is considered as a top notch thanks to their precision and skill in environment and sounds diversity. They succeed in establishing atmospheres and nervous feelings in which Thierry’s vocals and Rico’s rich sounds contribute to create the ShotGun presence. Now the band works its own songs with lyrics about the beauty of their island, environmental protection and lifetime issues more generally. They produce their first album in 2008. However, they don’t fail to be on stage which has became like a second home for these « live musicians » before all, a place where they can share their love for rock and music.
