Mario van Schijndel (1967), geneticly provided with a warmblooded rock’n’roll heart, was originally educated in classical music. However, after a period of time he found out that rock music had a bigger place in his heart than classical music, although in his opinion there were a lot of similarities. Later on that classical influences are recognized in his own work.Played a lot of different styles, worked in the studio, and learned how to play a few other instruments, Mario became also a gifted composer/arranger. On stage he played in rock bands as Mindless, Stekkerloos, Bertus Staigerpaip and Bullit. In 2004 Mario decided to write his own music, with the guitar as leading instrument. There is a great variety in styles, from heavy rock to smooth ballads, from swamp-music to jazz, from symphonic loungemusic to surreal spacemusic, As a creative team van Schijndel and his girlfriend and creative partner Dolly Krabbendam started MaYor Myx, and in 2005 he started to write music for a total theater-programm, called Emotions. Emotions is a musical experience with images, vocal atmospheres, lights and dance, and again with the guitar as a leading instrument. The idea behind Emotions is that you have to see what you hear and hear what you see, in a way that the spectator has his own personal experience. At this moment Mario is writing and recording his new CD.
