Time has come... It's all happening...

About Me

In 2002 ROT was introduced to the musical world with the album Rabid Outbreak Through. An Album which was produced by the inspiring Akis Golfidis(Socrates,Salif Keita,Manos Hatzidakis).A bunch of University students announced its experimental progressive metal sounds which they believed would make a difference. The album climbed up the charts to position 36 very unusual for Greek standards. Later in 2003 their second album titled 'pRovOcaTiv' was launced with a result to capture the imagination of the hard rock progressive fans. A band with many national awards from album artwork, videoclips and considered by Metal Hammer as one of the best upcoming bands. Things were looking good for the bands name and popularity until bad luck struck. Dispute amongst the band members lead to the departure of nearly all members. Buttons wanted to hold the name and was determined to continue and fight for what he believed in. He contacted an old friend(Nickoz) to work together on the music which he believed was worth at least one more chance. '?he shape of things to come' was created. It was the first song that both Buttons and Nickoz worked on and were delighted with the result. Behind closed doors for nearly all of April of the year 2005 with no social life, loads of candles, an abundance of faith and creativity and of course heaps of wine and junk food, the remaining songs were created as well.Great! Here we had a demo that was suppose to be the foundation of songs to come but there was one minor problem. Who would play them? There was no band! Who would deliver the music? The ex-members of Rot were fantastic musicians and believed to be irreplaceable, because of that distinguished Rot sound. Buttons was mistaken! Incredible coincidences occured that Summer of 2005,which we will not get into now. From the mist arrived these strange and extraordinary people gifted with art and enthusiasm. 'We will heal your wounds and produce this album because we believe in this conscious music too'. The amazing thing was in their first get meeting they didn’t even know each other....magical chemistry unfolded...it was incredible. Mutual respect, great humor and most important of all an evolving friendship. Almost immediately recordings in Sierra studios took place. A year later Rot's new Album is nearly completed. Melodic progressive rock sounds, spiced with conscious lyrics and many surprises! "...the tide has come to take us in.We're all here but far from done"
