Monis Kin has been in the making for quite some time. Born in Saginaw, Michigan in the 80's, he was always amongst people that had many different views and beliefs as him. In a town where the minds of many are closed, Monis Kin's was not. Writing began as an early hobby aside from the normal sports kids would play.
In 2003 he moved to LA in search of something more, or better. He picked up a guitar for the first time and was so frustrated with it, that he put it in the corner for a about a year. He kept on writing, and an itch inside of him said to pick up the guitar again and teach himself. So, somewhere in the end of 2004 , he picked it up again. Despite the words of his friends and skeptics around him, he dedicated the instrument to himself, as an equal to his body. He chose to completely teach himself in hopes of finding that special sound that truly came from his own soul and not an emulation of someone else. Truely tired of constantly hearing the sounds on the radio being soul-less and fabricated he says: "Too many kids/people these days play what they hear to make a quick buck instead of grabbing the emotion within themselves and investing in that. Good music is hard to come by these days because everyone just wants to become famous."
Currently Monis Kin has been learning to play his pre-Gibson Dobro. He's still writing and playing his 6-string acoustic, and says to look forward to more songs soon. "I've been busy lately trying to stay alive in this world of greed, that it's taken me away from completely anchoring my soul to what I love. But that's going to change soon."
In regards to his music: "I hope they like it. In it's least, it's a part of me that I'm giving to whom ever may want it."
