In 2005 I completed work on a full length concept Album called "Johnny Walker's Dead Horses." The LP is made up of 14 of my original songs and arrangements. After I wrote the songs and arrangements, I set out to find the means to produce and record my original ideas for the full album. After two years of struggling to find different line ups, moving, and dealing with set backs, I was convinced to settle on a line up that hadn't spent much time together and recorded a 6 song EP of the album in the fall of 2007. The tracks were recorded by a very talented recording engineer (Giles Reaves) in Draper, Ut. Even though the tracks from the EP strayed from a lot of the original arrangements and lyrics I had for the full album "JWDH" I was pleasantly content with the tracks and wanted to pursue shopping the EP. I had hopes of recording the full album with a proper budget and in the order of the way I had originally wrote and intended the full album to be from my mind as the composer.
The line up that helped record the EP attempted to play a few live shows in Local SLC, UT. under the name "Johnny Walker's Dead Horses" and later "The Ruby Release" for a period of about 6 months but really couldn't get on the same page and parted ways 2 weeks in front of a SXSW showcase opportunity in March of 2008. The Showcase in Austin was never played and the Full length album of "Johnny Walker's Dead Horses" has not been recorded to date. The songs you hear on this site today are from the EP sessions in Draper, UT.
