From ex-drug addict and dealer, to an experienced youth pastor, evangelist, and concert promotion/production company owner, Derrick has been involved in ministry for the last 14 years. Transformed in an instant by a road to Damascus experience of his own, Derrick gave up a promising college and pro football career and dream, and chose to submit to a call - to develop his relationship and knowledge of God. That journey would take him through two different bible schools, an associate evangelist position, allow him to serve as personal assistant to many pastors, and to hold several youth pastor positions. In 1999 Derrick founded Great Awakening Ministries and began to travel, preach, and hold revival meetings around Central Arkansas. Then while serving as a youth pastor and running a small Christian music venue in the year 2000, Derrick and his sister Karen began to pursue a passion and new direction for concerts, bands and the music side of ministry and that venue and experience lead to the start of thier own music venue- Edens Edge. Since the start of Edens Edge as music venue, it has grown and has developed into a concert promotion/production company. Edens Edge has hosted numerous concerts, promoted, booked, and produced shows with bands such as: Skillet, Pillar, Building 429, RED, Decyfer Down, Disciple, Nevertheless, December Radio, Stellar Kart, Seventh Day Slumber, Storyside B, Chasen, Dismas, Wavorly, 33 Miles,Ruth, Fireflight, Manic Drive, plus many other local and regional bands. While Great Awakening Ministries has some what transitioned into Edens Edge, Derrick still has a passion to see revival come to the local church and spill out of the 4 walls into the streets spreading the Power, Grace & Love of God from the heart of the believer to the schools, workplace & marketplace, (Restoring Daddy's Picture).
