About Me

Minds Align is the brainchild of Portland, Oregon-based pianist, keyboardist and composer Becca Schultz. Minds Align also features the minds (and hands) of Philip Wiseman on drums, Joel Davis on bass, and Brandon Woody on electric guitar. The music blends together many organic ideas, all while maintaining a heavy dose of Prog Rock and a totally fresh style. Becca's musical and compositional influences range from Bach to Yes and Mahavishnu Orchestra to Mahler; old school Prog and Jazz Fusion bands from the 60's and 70's as well as current experimental music continue to be the band's primary influences. This, along with unusual creativity, results in unique harmonies, rhythms, and concepts that keeps listeners on their toes, hardly able to predict to which galaxy the music will take them.
