Beneath A Black Sky was started in March of 2007 by drummer Shane Z. and Guitarist Vinny J. Going through many line up changes at the bands start BABS finally decided to stick with the line up of Vinny on guitar, Shane on drums, and Matt on vox untill Rusty took the empty bass position in late summer/ early fall. With there line up finally complete BABS went on to play as many shows as they possibly could while working on new material. Eventually signing to local label DIHS records in early winter and then switching labels after an invite to join Stitched Up Record's roster in midwinter. Now almost a year later BABS has successfully wrote a 5 song EP entitled "The Dead Or Alive EP" and have been placed on the same bill as bands such as Psyopus, The Dance Club Massacre, Red I Flight, Moria, Arsonists Get All The Girls, Endwell, Bloodlined Calligraphy,
A Thousand Fallen Skies, Burn This City, Last Chance to Reason, An Autopsy, Pictures of Winter and many others. As well as sharing the stage and gaining the respect of locals and other NY bands, The Lie Is My Weapon, Heal These Wounds, She is A Liar, Dressed in Red, Three Word Murder, Ashes of Atrocity and many more.
With the new Ep being released in Feb BABS has planed there first one week tour in March as well as planning in collarberation with SUR a full east coast tour for the month of July, and will begin working on even newer material to release there full length debut on SUR in Late fall/ winter of 2008.
One thing is for sure after only a year BABS is moving fast and we don't plan ..ing anytime soon.
