About dig

dig began life as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's (ABC) first internet radio station in November 2002. It has since broadened its access by being available through Australian free-to-air digital television, selected Australian pay-tv digital services and it is part of the Digital Radio tests taking place in both Sydney and Melbourne.
dig is based on music, entertainment and cultural programming, catering for a 30+ audience. A music-only station, it crosses a broad range of styles, including: rock, pop, R&B, funk, blues, country, roots, world, folk, jazz and electronica - just to name a few. Online, dig provides a non-stop music stream and on-demand listening, as well as two speciality streams - dig Jazz and dig Country . Within each stream the song, artist, album and label information is available on every track that is played, as it's played.
dig offers quality music drawn from a wide range of genres and sources.
It provides music programming to a demographic that hasn't been catered to full-time elsewhere on Australian airwaves.
dig also has a weekly e-newsletter that provides information that includes music news headlines, the weekly new music added to dig and info on new reviews, interviews and podcasts.
