Subterranea erupted onto the scene in 2004, bringing a unique female fronted hard rock sound to the stages of London. The band has built up a reputation for great live performances, combining heavy grooves and a powerful guitar sound with soaring, melodic vocals and a captivating stage presence.
The band released their first EP in the summer of 2005. The initial 100 copies were quickly sold at gigs and received rave reviews. John Swaine of Neon Promotions described the lead off track Overrated as a "damn catchy rocker" and live favourite Lyrical Kind as "big and solid....... awesome." Lyrical Kind has been a constant fixture in the BandsUnsigned.net top 20 since November 2005, peaking at number 1. Overrated also won the Best Female Vocals category on Garageband.com (August 2005). Having recently finished recording their second four track EP, Velvet Lies, the band have resumed their live campaign, regularly performing at venues in London and around the south east such as the Bull & Gate, Black Sheep Bar and Hope & Anchor. They have built up a strong and dedicated fanbase along the way.
