About Me

Imagine a band just like the Monkeys – if the Monkeys couldn’t really give a shit. Or the Beatles if they were really lazy and Ringo was the manager. A band so indifferent to the cycles of fate that they didn’t really know what was happening or who was doing it or why or when or where or how. The Lo-Tec Highbrows, here on in referred to as the Lowies are a band so indifferent to the idea of success that they wrote a song about it, called naturally enough “Success”. It was conceived in the midst of a writing spree within which the band tried to record a whole album in the time it takes to play a whole album. They fell short by three songs. Surprisingly people seem to like “Success”, they play it all the time on Sydney’s FBI and occasionally on our youth broadcaster JJJ. But there’s much more to the Lo-tec experience. You can watch them stumble around on stage as they try to negotiate the tricky terrain between the start of a song and the end of a song. And if that’s not entertaining enough for you why don’t you go down to the fucking multiplex and watch something with Tom Cruise in it. Of course its going to be better they spent three hundred million fucking dollars on it. The Lowies album only cost a case of beer and a foilie. The Lo-tec Highbrows – a pop band.
