I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a composer, an executive and a music composition major at Whitman College. I'm sensitive, sweet, caring, a good listener and open about sharing my own life. I like working out, playing video games, writing music, or composing music (whatever you prefer to call it), spending time with really great kids, talking, being with my friends, listening to music watching movies, writing poetry, sketching, painting and enjoying life. I'm a dual-citizen of the United States and Sweden. I traveled a lot the first years of my life where I literally was on over a hundred flights and spent my time living in two locations in Sweden, a time share in the Florida Keys, London, and eventually settling down in Santa Barbara, California.Though I go back to Southern California on breaks, my primary residence is in eastern Washington state now. I'm a compassionate, loving person that kids seem to love. I get along great with peoples' parents, I like to help people out when they're having a rough time and I'm ready with a smile and hug if you want one. I'm generous with my time, emotions and occasionally splurge money on my friends and love interests. I like deep open communication and I'm willing to share just about anything about myself.I don't drink anymore and I never smoked or did drugs and don't intend to. If that's a problem for you, don't message me. I don't usually have a problem with other people that do those things, though I usually prefer to hang out with them when they aren't. Also, girls, please remember that you smell worse when you do and if I kiss you you don't taste as good with alcohol, smoke or other such substances on you. It's not that I won't like you necessarily, but it brings you down a few notches in attractiveness when you smell or are clearly really out of it.

My Interests

.. I like working out, playing video games, writing music, or composing music (whatever you prefer to call it), singing, dancing, spending time with really great kids, talking, being with my friends, listening to music watching movies, writing poetry, sketching, painting and enjoying life.

The video below is of a visit in the Spring 2006 semester from Maggie the wolf (courtesy of Project Wolf in Colorado and through the efforts of Cari on campus) to Whitman College. It was a great experience and several of us got to pet her (though that's not shown here). If you look hard, you can see me sitting raised with my knees on the ground towards the end of the video. Thanks to Emily for posting the video.

Music:

"Classical", Orchestral, Chamber Music, Electronica, New Age, World, Opera, Video Game Scores, Movie Scores, some Jazz and various examples of other more mainstream genres.

Movies:

Good Will Hunting, Pay It Forward, American Beauty, Little Buddha, The Philadelphia Story, Shawshank Redemption, LA Story, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Memento, Brother Sun Sister Moon, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Bull Durham, High Fidelity, Get Shorty, Hero, Star Wars, Run Lola Run, The Matrix, Contact, Dogma, Philadelphia, The Thief and The Cobbler, Office Space, Holiday, The Royal Tenenbaums, Dr. Strangelove, Lost in Translation, The Thomas Crown Affair, Dune, Mortal Kombat, Elizabeth, Brother Sun Sister Moon, Meet Joe Black, Love Actually, Keeping the Faith, Old School, Anchorman, Hitch, Forrest Gump.

A brief explanation: I don't like horror movies and I'm sensitive to excessive brutal violence, the portrayal of extreme cruelty or needle use and I'm bored by war movies. Now if you like these things I'm completely fine with that and it won't affect our friendship one bit but I can't watch them with you. : -)

Television:

I don't really watch TV anymore. But some of my favorite shows back when I did were Law & Order (the original only), Star Trek: TNG and DS9, Biography, Inside the Actors Studio and Venture Brothers.

Books:

I'll update this more later but for starters...

Illusions by Richard Bach, The Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy by Douglas Adams, War and Peace by Tolstoy (I didn't enjoy the war parts actually), The Narnia Chronicle by C.S. Lewis
