Marcelo Godoy is a singer and composer, "mineiro" from Montes Claros, one of the most important cities in the north of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is a place where several musical influences of Brazil get together.
For many years he was a member of famous folclore group "Banze" which he performed on many tours around Europe.
During 1991, after two important musical years spent in London, he turns back to Brazil. Through the contact with musical celebreties as Toninho Horta, Lo Borges, Beto Guedes and others, Marcelo gets maturity and refinement into his work.
Still in 1991, he releases his first CD "Inspiral", independent, recorded in Rio de Janeiro, with guitar-player Beto Lopes as musical director and arranger and special guests as Yuri Popof, Lena Horta and Marcos Suzano among others great names as Ciro Cruz, Renato Massa and Ze Marcos.
Living in Rotterdam, Holland, since 1993, he has created and developed many different projects aiming a better interaction between the dutch and brazilian comunities.
On his last CD " Paralelo 16", recorded in Amsterdam and released by the well known jazz label CrisCrazz Records, contains the richness and variety of brazilian rithms and it is a real proof of a mature musician and reflects the high level of this artist.
