Simone Fedi

About Me

Simone Fedi was born as an artist in 1998 as singer of the Flake, new metal band, that manages to stand out for its innovative character and strong influence. In 1999 they win the important Cencio's prize that brings them to play in the most fa-mous clubs of Tuscany and to get several proposals from record companies. Unfor-tunately the group slits up after the death of the guitar player Luca Scopelliti. That's when Simone starts his solo carreer that pushes him in the beginning to the pure electronic testing and then to the long term relationship with the dance and new dance music. He founded "The Essential Ventilation", sperimental band composed by Simone Fedi at the sequencing, keyboards and guitar, Francesco Piccirillo scratching and effects, Banjo acoustic and electronic bass guitar. With this team Simone manages to mix funk, minimal, house and break beat with an incredible live feeling with a great impact. After the collection of singles Banjo leaves " The Essential Ventilation" leaving Si-mone and Francesco to a new musical freedom that brings them to get great artistic success. A.M.P., that's the name of the project that Simone Fedi, with the help of Francesco Piccirillo and Dino Storai, found with the precise intention of bringing live sets where just world renowned dj sets have been done. The response they get from the audience is overwhelming as A.M.P., further to the minimal-deep-electro music, enriches their dj sets with video projections and many instruments such as two computers, synth, sequencer, consolle dj and revolutio-nary effects. Immediately noticed in clubs such as Tenax, ex Mud, Le giardin au bord du Lac, In-somnia and Officina Giovani, A.M.P. stars producing tracks to be played during their live sets. In 2006 Laboraudio decides to release the album "Pensamiento", compilation of singles auto-produced from A.M.P.. But Simone has the impression that this music direction is made to end, and he in-vents in 2005 a new path to be followed. Further to the production increasingly more sperimental and of sound development, what today is called "new dance", Simone finds a new way to do music. The will to start making real music with real instruments is increasing and he puts himself into this with all his heart, following who he considers the centerpieces of this innovative genre: The Emperor Machine, Prins Thomas, Lindstrom and so on... "Astral Manhole Project" that's the name that Simone decides to give to his new project. He creates a recording studio Astral Manhole Studio, expressily created for his productions and open to the public as project and recording studio. Choosing vintage analogic synthesizers Simone manages to sculpt his deep sound and ag-gressive at the same time, mixing funk, italian disco, house and synth pop. He scores two important releases for the Smash Hit Recordings (San Francisco): Funkology and Samba!, one release on Eskimo Recordings with 3 tracks: Belzebù Tales, Judas! and 2m/6ft, starting point of a prolific production. Simone Fedi aka Astral Manhole Project during his shows creates a live/dj set strong and dynamic, where the sound retrò of the electronic disco music and the one of the new modern dance are mixed together, giving birth to an overwhelming performance made of stirring improvisations.

Influences: TIGA: Fantastic record!!!!! Love all 3 stracks.....but I think B2 is my fave.....killer! LINDSTROM: i like this one ! especially judas ... those guitars sound ace! MUNK (GOMMA): i love it. very good! AEROPLANE: 9/10 Like a lot! I played A1 last saturday and people in front of me was very enthusiatic! Like B1 too! LOW MOTION DISCO: belzebu is a tale flavoured with an old school background of instrumentation a funky bass and a trippy guitar. --- judas is a synth driven monster that takes us on a very groovy trip. some tracks have this kind of ibiza feeling, others have got a splash of pink floyd in them. judas has it all. and lots more. our favourite. 2m/6ft leaves us with a strong demand for more of this. a name to watch out for! SERGE (CLONE): nice Lindstrom-esque disco vibes. will do well in our store!
