Jar Of Flies are the UK's ultimate tribute to Alice in Chains.We are here to celebrate and bring the UK everything that was great from Alice in Chains.
Formed in 2007 by former 'The Rage Against the Machine UK Tribute' member's Louis (Drums) and Rob (Vocals) they quickly enlisted Steve (Bass) along with Tim and Sparky (Guitar's).
They initially started out playing all the great tunes that the 90's threw at us but after a couple of shows they realised that they were missing out on something, as two tunes in particular were going down with the audiences far greater than anything else. In the set were the tunes Them Bones and Would? by Alice in Chains. They quickly decided that they should capitalise on this and Jar of Flies was formed.
By using two guitarists they not only capture the unique sound that made Alice in Chains one of of the Worlds finest Rock bands but they accurately re-create the songs that we know and love today. Jar Of Flies will be the closest you can get to the real thing!!
Alice in Chains were famous for combining equal parts heavy riffs and delicate acoustic sounds, Alice in Chains forged a unique angry, tortured sound that put them at the forefront of Seattle's early-'90's grunge bands.
Vocalist Layne Staley and guitarist Jerry Cantrell (often singing in a brooding, close vocal harmony), along with drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Starr signed to Columbia Records in 1989 and released an EP and their debut Facelift well before the plethora of Seattle bands took over MTV. Following an appearance in the "grunge scene" film Singles, their second album Dirt debuted at number one, cementing Alice in Chains as one of the most important and popular bands of their generation. Their subtle yet angry acoustic EP Jar Of Flies followed, which showed an entirely different side of the band, also debuted at number one and proved that grunge didn't have to be loud to be powerful. In 1995, they released their self-titled album. This album was followed with a limited number of select gigs including their famed MTV Unplugged) performance.
