As part of the "Berlin Central Sparks" (THE FACE, 2000) DJ Christine Lang is one of the first women to appear in Germany's drum & bass scene. - 'Heavy Bass Style to Dance to'
She has been a DJ since mid nineties. Her DJing skills and her knowledge of music came with her first regular DJ job in Bremen's club 'Modernes'. Each Saturday she had an audience of up to 2000 people dancing to varying styles of music. In the mid nineties she got infected by a new virus later to be called drum & bass.
Christine went to Berlin in 1996 to become resident DJ at the 'Icon' club, thus helping to develop the club's long lasting reputation as the city's major drum & bass venue. In the years to come she performed at all of the capital's famous clubs. Gigs like one at Cologne's Popkomm (with MC Looney Tunes aka Quio) and touring through Germany and abroad have taken her increasingly rough style to a larger audience including ones in Sweden, Argentina, Paraguay, Portugal, Switzerland, Romania and Los Angeles. Since the new millennium she expanded her DJ set into other heavy bass styles as uk garage and dubstep.
Christine Lang is also working as a filmmaker, so she produced two music videos for Quio. "So Dazed" (2006) and "Rising Tide" (2008) had received a lot of attention at international film festivals and had won several awards - at last the Babelgum Music Video Award 2009, chosen by Michel Gondry and David Ford!
