My name is Fabian Alejandro Diaz. I am of mexican descent, born in the United States, in Andrews,Texas. I paint because it's what I love to do, it is my passion! My artwork is a personal exploration of my culture and it's language. A learning experience through color, line, texture and shape.I primarily use oils, but because I have a love for all art, most of my pieces become mixed media pieces. In my current work I would like to study the face and form, while discovering the many characteristics of my ethnicticity. I grew up in northern New Mexico, where I was heavily influenced by the spanish colonial heritage, and the native americans of the four corners area. Sophmore year in high school we moved back to my home town and that is where I began to notice more of the mexican culture. The use of materials and color some what differ from these places but alot of the same imagery is used! I hope my work shows both of these sides with a mix of techniques from my generation. All the while staying true to what I personally am about!
