.This St. Maarten local Hip-hop artist studying in the Netherlands, has within less than two years: reformatted his approach to the music industry, gained the respect of top entertainers in Europe and is currently labeled a “One Man Asylum/Powerhouse†through adding the attribute of DJ (Disk Jockey). Making him a force to reckon with in Europe.
DJ/Mc SpY, real name: Kyle R. Brown, son of Anlucinda Mijdt and Harry Brown; Has already succeeded Associate Degrees in (IMM) International Music Management, (ICM) International Communication Management with minors in Artist Management, International Music Publishing and Film Studies and soon a Bachelor degree in Media & Entertainment Management . He aims at condemning what he was told his entire life; “A St. Maartner cannot be successful in the music industry.†SpY has taken his rebellious attitude towards all the negatives he was faced with and used it to fuel his recent success and those to come.
With the release of his first DJ Mixtape labeled “Success Is The Best Revenge Vol 0.2 (Party Edition)†He features a melting pot of genres ranging from: Hip-hop, R&B, House, Reggae, Pop and a few surprises (we leave for the fans to experience). In less than 2 weeks DJ/Mc SpY has already had over four hundred downloads via his MySpace page alone. His release was broadcasted worldwide via a well known online radio station www.godfathasounds.com , featuring entertainers such as: Dj Flip and Dj Fatz( No comment Sounds), DJ Vicious (The People’s Mixtape Champion), Dj Jizza, Da Truth, Dj Arsenic, Yinkneezy, Dj Fiber and of course DJ SpY. The CD release has summed over two hundred and forty downloads in less than twenty four hours.
Since the release, many well known musicians, event organizers and popular websites ranging from: Mega D (RMX Crew), J’nel, Dj Outkast (187 Boyz), Dj Fatz, Da truth, Entyce Band, Dj Arsenic, Dj Vicious, Oddessy, Club Mi&Yu, www.godfathasounds.com, www.saturdaynightlyme.nl, www.dragonproduction.nl, www.yorkvillestudios.com and much more. Have all joined to show their support for the current Vol. 0.2 (Party Edition) and upcoming 0.3 (Soca Edition) releasing July 31st,2008; to ensure that it will be an even greater success.
As DJ/MC SpY gears up for the next release; he is also very enthusiastic to be finally returning back home to St. Maarten, to do his internship under the Philipsburg Broadcasting umbrella.
