Tombstone Trailerpark was an Americana band that went from 1996 to about 2002. Based in Nashville, the project started as a duo and over time add and subtracted members here at and there and always had random guests on the records like artist Howard Finster (Talking Heads, REM), David Santos (Elton John, Billy Joel), Shawn Spencer ( Spellbox ), Bill Luther (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney) and John Wheeler ( Hayseed Dixie ). Highlights included recording 5 albums, playing SXSW, doing some gigs in England, getting a few endorsements in Mojo Magazine, got a song in the movie Films That Suck , opening for Vigilantes of Love , Hot Club of Cowtown , Blueground Undergrass and Laura Cantrell, getting a song featured on NPR’s Car Talk and making many friends.
This profile is a bit of a tombstone of sorts, in that the band no longer exists as such. But it’s also a road sign pointing folks towards the spirit of Tombstone Trailerpark in like-minded artists and also lettin’ folks know that the spirit does live on because many of the Trailerpark songs have and are being rerecorded by other artists. We’ll make announcements of such events when they occur, where they occur and if any of ya’ll hear about Tombstone Trailerpark related going ons, let us know and we’ll pass it on.
