About Me

It was the Summer of '69 and I was really pissed because my parents wouldn't let me go to Woodstock. The cousin who offered to take me smoked pot and my folks knew about it - so no go. Anyway in an attempt to make it up to me Dad gave me two free tickets to Oakdale to see this little known band from England -Led Zeppelin.

I was a 15 year old promising jazz drummer at the time. The day after the Zeppelin concert my hair began to grow long, the drumming style went from conventional to match grip, I bought double bass drums, my balls turned brass and that was that.

Haven't looked back since

Recent Crytone projects:

- "Perfect Fit" debut solo album from Justin Perillo

- "Dropping Like Flies" - debut solo album from Matt Carlson

- "Everything is Alright" debut album from Andrew Shea

- "Mercenaries" - Chris Modeen & the Mercenaries

- Matt Lopez of Radio Fix

My Space Tunes:
- "Mercenaries" and "I've Seen Blue" - Chris Modeen & The Mercenaries. Two months of creative studio time with the Calabrese boys driven by the music of one very talented Chris Modeen. Raw, energetic rock & roll. Love these tunes. Real, non-corporate, no bullshit music. Jeff Sobon from Fear The State plays a killer bass track on "Mercenaries" as only Jeff can.

- "Simplicity" by Andrew Shea. Andy has begun work on his 2009 EP and "Simplicity" is the first track. If the other songs are the quality of this one - expect a killer work from Andy.

- "Streets of Gold" - NTTK (Nuts to the King) are back in the studio. Billy's vocals rock and Dave Evon's guitar solos scream. More to come from NKKT.

- "For Those Of Us Who Knew". How does Matt Carlson follow up his killer debut album "Dropping Like Flies"? By recording more kick ass music.

- Fire & Rain by James Taylor. Our personal homage to JT. On this tune you can hear Tom Savoy's powerful vocal range. He has the absolute best set of vocal pipes of any musician I've ever played with.

- "Walkin In My Sleep" Cool hard rock reggae tune with Tom belting out the vocals as usual. Both of these tunes were first takes on a Tascam 8 track analog deck - old school.

- "Tuffy" by Justin Perillo. It just rocks so I like it. Recorded the drums to click track. Bill & Brett did a great job producing the tune

Peace

Never too old to rock & roll and way too young to die

Isn't it ironic - At 53 my drumming style continues to be as hard, fast, funky and tasty as it was when I was a touring musician. Friends, fans and fellow players that I have ...
