About Me

Guido Marzorati was born in 1975 in Venice, Italy. After playing with various local bands he recorded his first solo album “LIVE AT HOME” (vocals, acoustic guitar and harmonica) in August 1999. Enthusiastic reviews in the magazines “Buscadero” and “The River” made him known to a wider audience. In September 2000 he won the “Bande Rumorose” competition in Copparo, performing a selection of songs from the album. In Spring 2003 he did a solo tour of New York playing 20 gigs to great crowd reaction.
In 2002 he began his collaboration with “The Blugos” (Elisa Marzorati, piano, Iliano Vincenzi, bass and Andrea Scarpari, drums). With the band in mind he rearranged many of the songs of the first album, giving them a more complex sound and making them more exciting for live performances. They also added some cover versions to their set by bands such as the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley and Tom Petty. Since then they have performed in many local venues and festivals, a highlight being the “Festival d’estate” in Vascon where they were the support act for the “Treves Blues Band”, legendary band on the Italian blues scene.
In 2004 Guido Marzorati performed in Piazza Castello in Ferrara with “Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers”, American rocker produced by Bruce Springsteen.
In 2005 he played at the Stone Pony, famous Asbury Park venue where the biggest names in rock music have performed. In 2006, three years after its recording, “JOURNEY OF HOPE” the new disc with “the Blugos” came out. It was received enthusiastically by critics and audiences alike. Besides the various live concerts with The Blugos, in 2007 he performs with Bill Toms and Marc Riesman in a Tour around Italy. In May 2008 Guido Marzorati & The Blugos play at the legendary Roxy Bar owned by Red Ronnie. The style and energy of the whole band recalls the heat and passion of the singer-songwriters of the late ‘70s with the same images and colors of the East Coast songwriter sound.
Guido Marzorati & The Blugos are back in the studio to record a new album. Here it is the tracklist:
1) King for a night
2) Ask the trash can
3) Look inside
4) Empty promises
5) The price of your paradise
6) Petrolkiller
7) Top secret
8) Nothing new
9) The great escape
10)Are you there?
