About Me

I have been playing drums since I could crawl; pulling pots and pans out of the cupboards and banging on them with chopsticks. At 14 I began playing in various clubs with a blues trio, which went on to win numerous awards around the Twin Cities and opened for national blues acts. The experience of playing live shows at a young age has provided me with a strong foundation to grow into a well-rounded and energetic performer. I have traveled to South Africa and traditional African drumming has a huge influence on me. I have also studied japanese Taiko drumming with Theater Mu, and have participated in yearly shows at the Southern Theater. Over the past few years, the focus has turned to jazz. There's nothing I love more than playing music. In a basement or on a stage, it's the purest expression of who I am. The next best thing is when I can share that with people. Graduated from McNally Smith College of Music with an AAS in Percussion Performance, where I've had the privelage of studying with Marv Dahlgren, Dave Stanoch and Gordy Knudson. If you're in the Twin Cities area, feel free to contact and set up a session.
