The Solstice Showdown originated in 2006 when then managers had an idea of doing a battle of the bands style comp’ with The Gangsters taking home the first trophy.
After the initial success it was decided that the competition would be held every year.
in 2007 the Brays took home the Solstice Showdown Trophy, and as part of the prize they won a gig night at Radius above the Solstice. This was one of the most successful nights we have had at the Radius and was a thoroughly enjoyed night by all who attended.
In 2008 the winners of the showdown were Point 7 Pistol. Point 7 hosted the lauch on their latest EP in the Radius Venue as part of the showdown prize, it was an awsome night enjoyed by everyone attending.
The 2009 Showdown was won by Hundreds Rode. they have yet to book the Radius as part of their prize but watch this space for updates. As soon as they have a gig date in mind we shall pass on the great news.Prizes include band recording time - Peterborough Music Shop gift vouchers and a Night at the Radius (worth more than £***’s) The Radius is a 300+ venue and is an ideal place to showcase your band’s talent.
