As a drummer for the past eight years, I grew up in my hometown, Ballymun, Dublin. My dad and my brother are guitarists and have influenced my musical abilities since my early days, (I don't know how i mannaged to be a drummer!!??) But i've loved percussion as a baby and learned that if its noisey! I want to beat it!I've studied and worked with many outstanding musicians and songwriters. Starting in an indie/rock band (Kumara) where i started my learning curve for 3 years with friends. I then went on to study at the rock school (ballyfermot) for the two year diploma in popular music where i met people such as Anthony Furey who i've played with for the duration of my diploma at the rock school and still do sessions for.I have done studio work with Paul Butler of Clockwork, a singer/pianist with outstanding songwriting abilities.
More currently i'm with the band (Caruso) a very pleasant and hard working Dublin based band.Aside from my Irish musicianship i have spent the last year studying at the Popakademie in Mannheim Germany, Where i took lessons from the great Udo Dahmen - President of Percussion Creativ, Europe's leading
Drummers Association, Director and professor at the Popakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Mannheim.
Also with Patrick Metzger and Benny Greb, two outsanding Drummers who i admire so much.While at the popakademie i found i had alot to learn as it was more professional than i had imagined. I felt a deap sensation of the hard hitting fact "man there's alot of shit i need to know." Successfully completing my exchange course and learning also some German while playing with a great rock 'n' roll band with head man Timmy Rough and his right hand man Benny Young Beaumann.. With help form these lads and the band i raised the bar with my enthusiasm and dedication to drumming. (thanks guys)Since then i recently decided it was time to return to ireland in the hope i could take what i'd learned and put it to use in the Irish scene..
Most of the Above people i have worked with should be in my top 16 check them out its worth it!! I hope to work with many more and work again with everybody i have so far..
