The birth of a live dance band named En Masse formed in 2004 was also the start for BrotherSnare: the songwriter. Initially brought into the group as drummer/percussionist/producer, he immediately saw the attraction in using his writing skills and creative mindset.Once introduced into sequencing and arranging, he managed to find his own style of writing exceptionally quick and was being recognised as a top contender in the underground music arena.His style? A healthy cocktail of live sounding drum samples, rock/dub induced bass lines and a small layer of 80’s influenced synth, would be a good start.
Being the beat master for various bands from an early age has helped BrotherSnare in writing songs with a solid rhythm foundation that will always sound fresh. Early and current songwriting influences would include: Prince, Miles Davis, Musiq and D’Angelo for their soulfully astounding compositions and their ability to create timeless hit record after hit record; true key players in the evolution of BrotherSnare.BS has never been afraid of experimenting musically and thinking outside the box when it comes to writing music. The concept of Jazz is always in the forefront of his mind when it comes to sequencing and arrangement. This will continue in his songwriting routine.
