Keren Minshull is a singer with a rich, distinctive voice, having covered many different styles of music, fronting blues, pop and funk bands. The daughter of a big-band jazz trombonist, Keren grew up listening to everything from bebop to Motown, she sang in a church choir and was fascinated by pop music, absorbing the classics, be it Bach or the Beatles, Joni Mitchell or ‘Deep Purple’, Stevie Wonder or Streisand. With such a huge variety of styles and influences, Keren has developed a unique and recognizable sound that is both timeless and contemporary. A top female session vocalist in the early 90’s , . Her voice was used to promote thousands of products through advertising; singing jingles for both radio and television. Kerens’ voice was a familiar sound , heard on every major add. At this time She also played the role of a nightclub singer in an Australian drama series .having written a song that was featured in one of the scenes… Keren continued in the spotlight and obtained the female lead role in the contemporary musical comedy satire "Boogie Fever" which ran a successful season at Sydney's Kinselas Theater. .
During this period, Keren was writing a great deal and one of her tunes was selected by radio triple J to appear on a''home grown''album .Then came to
Fronting Australian pop trio, “Euphoria". They were acclaimed as Australia's first "dance" group. Euphoria had two consecutive No.1 singles;' I wanna love you right’’ and ‘’One in a million’’ both went platinum and reached No.12 in the UK dance singles charts. The 3rd single,' Do for you’’ was the longest running song in the top 5 that year and received the annual Coca Cola Pop Award they were also nominated for an Aria award in two categories. Because of Euphoria’s ability to chart outside of pop radio support it was successful enough to go to no.1,through the power of nightclubs and the support of D.Js’) This phenomena brought about the creation of the Australian ‘’Dance chart’’-,something that did not exist before ‘Euphoria’.This ground breaking band made its’mark on Aussie music history! , Keren was invited as Australian Guest Artist at the International Benson & Hedges convention performing with Malaysia’s top musicians in both Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.She went on to write a dance track,' Let's go' that was released through a small, independent label and with virtually no promotion, the song made it into the Top 40.
Keren co-wrote 2 tracks on a jazz funk album, with Sydney instrumentalist Noel Elmowy –. These two songs were the most frequently requested tracks on the top London’s smooth jazz’’ radio station and received U.K airplay for 3 months. Next,,Keren recorded a song for “Lifeline’ which was featured on a compilation album with other artists ,such as the legendary group ‘’10cc’’ More recently Keren has written many songs for a new international philosophy. The album’'It Makes sense' distributed independently,has been very successful and sold copies in Japan, Europe, Canada and Korea.It was then Followed up by an Ep.
It’s easy to see that Keren has dynamic looks. It’s easy to hear that she has extraordinary singing and songwriting ability. In the flesh she exudes a strong performing presence and has a magnetic personality.
Keren is currently recording her 3rd independent album that will be available online by the end of 2009.!!Stay tuned folks!
