The Wicked Lady

About Me

With the latest resurgence of once lost and forgotten cult-rock holy grails, from the Relapse releases of early Pentagram tapes to the reunited Leafhound, The Wicked Lady is a criminally underappreciated group from the era. Martin Weavers tone is unique and all to his own, where if you randomly picked out a record and dropped the needle somewhere in the middle, you KNOW its Weaver.
I fell in love when I found the Kissing Spell reissues in 2001 at a great record store called Brave New World in Pittsburgh PA.
There is some heavy riffage here, very proto-metal and a wah tone so killer its can only be rivaled by Hendrix, Zappa and Cream-era Clapton.
This is my small tribute site to a lost legend, in my opinion, of one of the most recognizable and snarling guitar tones Ive ever heard.
Please enjoy, and enjoy it AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE

Wicked Lady were six Carmelite nuns whose intravenous drug abuse led to the infamous "Ritual dismemberment of 'Lego' men" incident at Woodstock in Summer '71.
A true lost legend of proto-metal and a vicious coctail of buzzing acid-fuzz leads and Proto-Death-Reggae-Cyber-House.
Set your amp at maximum, mentally picture Whitney Houston, consume illicit substances and relax in an armchair
