About Me
Let's make sure we support Tim as he's on his second tour out in the the hotbox now! I figured that since everyone and their mother puts their music up on this thing, I might as well put ours up too. This is just a page to share our old and outdated music with our friends, and anyone who might appreciate it. But moreover, it's dedicated to Tim to let him know that he's accomplished more than he probably recognizes now. Come home safe and sound my fellow soldier/brother!I guess I'll give a little band bio, why not.The original project began in 1998 when Tim Burdick, Everett Wolf, Chad Breznay, and Tomas Brown decided to get a little ska/punk thing going. They invited Jason Irving to join their band shortly afterward and Suburbia's Finest was born. After practicing together for only a few short weeks, the band played the battle of the bands at Bear Creek High School and tied for first place. Suburbia's Finest began organizing their own shows at little places like Cafe Euphrates, and got a little break after organizing a show at Clement Park, which had a turnout of about 600 kids. A local promoter saw the show and started booking SF with punk bands coming through Denver like FYP, Blue Meanies, Assorted Jellybeans, the Nobody's and Link 80. During that time, Suburbia's Finest decided to record their first LP, "High School Dropout" on a local label called Lost Records. Their shows progressed and they had the opportunity to play with some bigger acts of the time like Homegrown, Fenix TX, and Good Riddance among others. The band even had the privelage of having now nationally known band "Alkaline Trio", as an opening act for them on several occasions. After Chad left the band, and some confrontation with their manager arose, the band decided to look elsewhere for promotion and were approached by a group of guys dedicated to investing in local talent, Cobalt Productions (Travis, Corbin, Alan, +2). They funded and promoted Suburbia's Finest second album, and first full length "A Fundamental Review on the Topics of Higher Learning". At the end of recording the album, Suburbia's Finest was selected as a finalist in the KTCL "Battle of the Bands for the Big Adventure" at the Gothich Theater. Although they had a turnout of 700+ fans, they ultimately lost a spot in the final two, who would play with the likes of Incubus and Papa Roach. A few months after the CD was released, Jason left the band, as the now solo guitarist, and was replaced shortly after by Chris Shellenberg. The band established a slightly different style, as being a bit softer with a stronger rock influence.Jason began a new band with a darker and heavier edge called "Cost of Living" with drummer Cody Hull, who he met while attending UCD. The band played out for about six months, after which Cody was offered to record on Suburbia's Finest third album. Cody ultimately ended up replacing Tomas Brown as the bands full time drummer. Suburbia's Finest continued with that lineup until the spring of 2003, when singer Tim Burdick enlisted in the United States Army with former guitarist Jason Irving. The third album was never completed.Tim Burdick is now a Sergeant with a wife and three little girls, serving his second tour in Iraq. Jason recently finished his military commitment and is living back in Denver. Everett Wolf was involved with another local project, "Motormouth", for a while after the passing of their bassist and vocalist, Justin Baer. Tomas Brown continues to play and was involved in a Denver cover band for quite some time. Cody Hull is now on tour with the Denver based act, Love Me Destroyer.
