Emerson Caruso

O guitarrista Emerson Caruso começou a vida artística no final dos anos 80, tocando rock’n’roll em diversas bandas no Rio Grande do Sul. A mais importante delas foi Júpiter Maçã com a qual gravou o disco “A Sétima Efervescência” em 1996. Seu primeiro contato com o blues foi em 1994 quando tocou na banda The Single Daddies. Depois disso trabalhou de roadie para Solon Fishbone y Los Cobras. Influenciado pelo som do blueseiro, passou a dedicar-se inteiramente ao blues. Em 1997 montou em Curitiba a banda The Blues Drivers. Em 2001 formou a banda Blues Del Fuego com a qual participou do Natu Blues Festival 2004, ano em que compôs e gravou o disco autoral “Blues del Fuego”. Em 2006 o guitarrista foi para Londres, onde passou um ano tocando nos bares da cena local com a banda Lost Soul Brothers. Em 2007 o grupo foi uma das atrações do festival “FYNS MC Festival” em Odense, Dinamarca. Retornando ao Brasil, em 2008 Emerson Caruso iniciou um novo projeto acústico voltado para as raízes do blues, tocando violão e explorando técnicas características do Delta Blues, como fingerpicking e slide guitar. Com este projeto participou do Curitiba Bluesjazz Festival 2008. Em janeiro de 2009 voltou ao blues elétrico, e durante a Oficina de Blues de Curitiba formou o Emerson Caruso Trio, com o baixista Kosta Matevski e o baterista Endrigo Bettega. Logo em seguida gravaram o disco “Blues Follows Me”, com a participação especial do gaitista Flávio Guimarães e do tecladista Adriano Grineberg.

Brazilian guitarist Emerson Caruso started his musical path in the late 80s, playing rock’n’roll with several bands in Rio Grande do Sul. The most important of those was Júpiter Maçã with which he recorded the cd “A Sétima Efervescência” in 1996. His first contact with the blues was in 1994, while playing with the band “The Single Daddies”. After that he worked as a roadie for Solon Fishbone y Los Cobras. Under the influence of the bluesman’s music he turned himself completely to the blues. In 1997, in Curitiba, he played with the band “The Blues Drivers” In 2001 he started the band “Blues del Fuego”, which was one of the attractions of Natu Blues Festival 2004. In that same year he composed and recorded the cd “Blues Del Fuego”. In 2006 Emerson Caruso went to London, where he spent a year playing with the band “Lost Soul Brothers”. In 2007 the group was one of the attractions of the “FYNS MC Festival” in Odense, Denmark. Back to Brazil, in 2008 Emerson Caruso started a new acoustic project, focusing on blues’ roots, playing acoustic guitar and exploring Delta Blues techniques such as fingerpicking and slide guitar. With this project he played in Curitiba BluesJazz festival 2008. In January 2009, back to electric blues, he put together Emerson Caruso Trio, with bass player Kosta Matevski and drummer Endrigo Bettega. Right after that they recorded the cd “Blues Follows Me”, with special guests Flávio Guimarães on harmonica and Adriano Grineberg playing keyboards./div
