4 sets a night; 5 nights a week at Mr. Lang's, Main & Fillmore, Buffalo NY, circa 1970-71...
The songs on his page were originally recorded on a reel-to-reel tape deck. Several years later, they were dubbed onto cassettes. More recently, they were converted to digital formats. These are imperfect recordings, yet they retain the essence of a band that was unique in its time...
No photograph exists of Shelter in its day. The photo used on this page is of an earlier band circa 1966-67, one of several combinations centered around Tim Baldwin's guitar work and vocals, along with Tom Kubiszyn's keyboards, utilizing different rhythm sections. The Shelter rhythm section of Norm MacKenzie and Ed Ryan are particularly impressive on the breathtaking finish to the 10 minute long Medley from Tommy...
