About Me
Growing Up:
Kayley Jaxor is the second child of Sala and Parek Jaxor. She was born 9 ABY on Myrkr. Her parents were simple people, owning a relics shop in the main city, Hyllyard, but what many found odd about the Jaxor family was their pet: an ysalamir named Zalek. Zalek went where Kayley went, protecting her from dangers. Ysalamir were not know for being so tamed and had the ability to create a bubble where the Force could not enter. Zalek was the shield that would save Kayley in the end.
Many years before Kayley was born, during the Clone War, the Jaxor had their first child, Miranda Jaxor. In the time where the Empire was in control, life was not easy. When Miranda was still an infant, Emperor Palpatine visited Myrkr and took her from her family, training her to become his own Jedi assassin and the Emperor's Hand. She become known as Mara Jade. After the loss of their first child and the war was long over ,the Emperor dead, the Jaxors chose to take all the precautions they could to protect Kayley. They purchased a tamed ysalamir from the smuggler Talon Karrde and the creature remained with Kayley, shielding and masking her from the Force.
In 10 ABY, Grand Admiral Thrawn came into power with Gilad Pellaeon vowing to destroy the traitors of the Empire. The Jaxors had become spies for the Rebellion shortly after Mara was taken, making them traitors to the Empire and the Imperial Remnant. Thrawn had the Jaxors executed from their crimes, leaving Kayley was left an orphan. In their wills, the Jaxors left Kayley in the care of their smuggler friends, Kaida and Tarrand Navarr, members of the Smuggler Alliance under Talon Karrde.
Kayley grew up within the Smuggler Alliance, learning the smugglers' ways, becoming an excellent pilot and mechanic. Unknowingly, Kayley grew up to be much like her sister, and by the age of 10, she began training as a spy for the S.A, never knowing the gift she had due to Zalek own ability to block the Force. She remained invisible to the growing number of Jedi, now led by Luke Skywalker. When she was 12, Kayley left her foster parents and returned to Myrkr with Zalek. The pair lived on Myrkr with friends of Kayley’s, fellow smuggler children that resided on Myrkr while their parents travelled with the S.A. Nearly 2 years later, Zalek died. The loss weighed heavily on Kayley as she felt something different that she could not explain.
Jedi Paraxeum:
On Coruscant, Mara Jade, now married to Luke Skywalker, woke from a dream of a girl. She recognized her as Kayley from the Alliance, as the two of them had previously met when Mara was Karrde's assistant in the S.A. She was unsure why she dreamt of the young girl, but decided that she and Luke should investigate the matter further. The couple traveled to Myrkr to the household where the children lived. When they arrived, the children were found in the trees above. The Skywalkers searched the branches for Kayley till she fell from a tree behind them. Falling from such height should have hurt her, but instead, she was untouched. She greeted the couple and inquired as to the meaning of their visit.
As Mara stared at Kayley, she finally saw the resemblance they shared. In fact, it was almost like looking into mirror. As Mara and Luke discussed with Kayley her ability to use the Force, and the Jaxor's were brought into topic. Kayley told the Skywalkers about how her sister had been taken by Palpatine and that her pet ysalamir, who had been meant to protect her, had recently died. Eventually, Mara relized that Kayley was her younger sister. At the discovery of her sister, Kayley decided to live with the Skywalkers and be trained to use her powers.
At the Jedi Paraxeum on Yavin 4, Kayley became quick friends with her sister's new nephew and neice, Jacen and Jaina Solo, as well as with their friends Tenel ka Djo and Lowbacca. She quickley fell behind in her studies however as she, like her sister, would leave the academy for weeks on end for intelligence work and for the Smuggler's Alliance, unsure if she truly belonged. When word reached her of the capture of the Solo twins and Lowbacca by the Shadow Academy (which she had believed was only a rumor), she returned to her brother-in-law's side along with Tenel ka. The trio traveled to Dathomir to search for the rumored Nightsister that had associated herself with the Shadow Academy, disquised as new candidates for the dark academy.
During the two day trip, Garowyn, a Nightsister, began trying to teach the trio of the Dark Side. This came easier to Luke given his past experience but as new students, Tenel ka and Kayley struggled. Kayley could hear Mara whispering through the Force for her to be careful and abservant of her actions. Finally, Luke put an end to the Nightsister's teachings as he tricked ehr and put her into an escape pod, telling Kayley to eject the pod immediately.
Hours later, Luke, Tenel ka and Kayley arrived at their desination. Meanwhile, Jaina, Jacen and Lowie had escaped and were making their way to the docking bay surprising Kayley and the others with their sudden appearrance. As they left the academy, Luke sensed the presense of an old student who had failed to resist the temptation of the Dark Side, Brakiss.
Back on Yavin 4, preparations for the attack by the Shadow Academy quickly insued. Luke requested that Kayley stay at the Paraxeum to help in the upcoming fight and began training her in the skills she would need in combat with the Force, as she also trained her fellow students hand-to-hand combat. She contacted the Navarrs, Lando Calrissian and Admiral Ackbar to help in the fight as well as she and Jaina planned a strategy to fight in the skies with the Imperial transport they had stolen and Kayley's Headhunter.
As the fighting began on the ground, Jaina and Kayley took to the skies with the Navarrs', Calrissian's and Ackbar's ships. Kayley's Headhunter was damaged severely in the battle. As the fighting dwindled, Jaina and Kayley returned to the temple to find the twins' friend Zekk ready to fight, lightsaber in hand. Jaina tried to calm her friend as Zekk's "god-father", whom he had thought had died in the battle, appeared. As he stood down, he threw Jaina to the ground and called out "Get down!" to Kayley as an explosion shook the grounds. The grand adience chamber was destroyed.
In the end, the Shadow Academy was destroyed as well as Brakiss and the cloned Emporer Palpatine. Although her sister wished for Kayley to stay at the academy, Kayley yet again turned down the offer, taking the depressed Zekk with her to the Smuggler's Alliance to recover.
Duty:
Unlike her companions, Kayley never reached the status of Jedi Knight. When she turned 18, she left the Academy and joined the New Republic Intelligence Service (NRIS/NRI), later replaced by Galatic Intelligence, and eventually made her way into Alpha Blue, a secret service that worked beneath the government as well as above it as it did not proceed through the traditional committees and ministeries, and the Black Force Squadron, a paramilitary starfighter force of the NRI Starfighter Corps that recruited non-naval pilots like that of Rogue Squadron. Kayley’s reluctance to learn the Force distressed Luke, but Mara pointed out that when he offered to train her at the Academy, she had also been reluctant. Kayley continued her training between missions, making it difficult to learn much, especially when the Yuuzhan Vong entered the galaxy.
Yuuzhan Vong War:
Kayley's foster parents were some of the first to be killed by the Vong. She was staying with them and their crew when the ship was boarded. The Navarrs and two of Kayley's childhood friends were taken by the Vong. Later, when she was helping Anakin save Tahiri on Yavin 4, Kayley found that her foster parents and friends had been tortured and killed by the Vong and put on stakes as displays of the Vong's power. After the death of her foster parents, Kayley traveled to the Maw Installation and stayed at the Jedi's hideout for training, until Anakin's death on Myrkr nearly 2 years later. She then went to Tenel Ka's ball on Hapes, where shortly after, she and Jaina (who had attended with her) were escorted to Anakin's funeral.

A New Perspective:
A deadly adversary with just about any weapon within her reach, Kayley is a spy not to be messed with. She can seep into even the tightest of organizations and find herself quickly at the top, whether as a deadly mistress or leader. It was not until she met Jacen Solo that she missed her mark. As Jacen became the leader of the Galatic Alliance Guard, he was given full access and control of Galactic Intelligence. Working under him, Kayley and her young nephew, Ben, helped in the emcampment and deportation of Corellians off Coruscant. This action disturbed Kayley as she watched Jacen brutally torture and kill Ailyn Vel, the daughter of retired bounty hunter Boba Fet. Unsure she could handle any more of Jacen's orders any longer, Kayley resigned from the G.I. and retreated to her sister's side, urging Ben to follow with no avail.
