Biography

Sascha Schäfer, born August 21st 1984 in Zweibrücken, now living in Höheinöd, a small town in Rheinland-Pfalz, in the southwest of Germany discovered his initial passion for the drums at a very early age. He learned how to play the drums, when he still was a kid and was part of a band in his teenage-years. Until today he never lost his ferventness for handmade music.
Jens Kilz was born in Bad Kreuznach on September 9th 1982 and now lives in Mainz (am Rhein), the capital of Rheinland-Pfalz. Electronic music is primary passion, which he loves and lives since the age of 13.
The two met at the Palazzo in 2002, due to their similar interests and taste of music, their friendship developed and grew briskly. While Sascha specially favours a more minimal Sound, Jens appreciates the whole variety of electronical music.
Both already tinkered with the idea of creating own beats for a while, when 2003 they decided to make the dream come true and began to produce together. This was the initial origin of the Live Act “Crack & Acid”. In producing as well as in playing live these two complete one another perfectly, which is clearly in evidence, when you hear the results.
After innumerable homesessions they went public in April 2004 with their first live-gig. Already a couple months later in December 2004 they became part of the Smalltownbeatz Crew and now were presented as Resident Act on their parties. On a gig in January 2005 the met Andy Düx of Overdrive Rec, who was fascinated by their sound instantly and offered them to release on Overdrive. This was the affirmation of their visions and a big incentive for their ambition. From now on the production went up to speed. Together with the rest of the Smalltownbeatz-Crew, Crack & Acid played on their own floor on the Ruhr in Love. This gig was probably only the first highlight in their young career, which of will be more to come.
