most things by Nicholson Baker, most things by Tom Robbins (Skinny Legs and All, is an all-time favorite), Carter Beats the Devil, most things by Nick Hornby, Sarah Vowell's essays, especially The Partly Cloudy Patriot; Lolita, The Catcher in the Rye, The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, White Teeth, most things by Margaret Atwood, especially The Blind Assassin and The Handmaid's Tale; Their Eyes Were Watching God, everything by Jonathan Safran Foer, including Everything is Illuminated and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close; The Little Prince, most things by Jeanette Winterson, all David Sedaris, Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs, loved The Kite Runner, Bel Canto, American Gods, Nickel and Dimed (on not getting by in America), all Jane Austen, especially Persuasion, and to top it all off, I have an unhealthy addiction to trashy brit-chick-lit.
