LOOKOUT FOR ETON ROADS DEBUT SINGLE OUT THIS SEPTEMBER
RADIO CITY 96.7 - 01/01/07
David and Danny were on Radio City New Years Day along with Leon Lopez who you might know as "TankTop" from Hollyoaks in the City or "Jerome" From Brookside.
The lads got interviewed by Pete Price and this is what I noted down..
1. Danny has been doing talent shows since he was 7.
2. Danny's ideal girl would have have Nice Eyes and a Good Personality.
3. David's ideal girl would be Dark Haired with Blue Eyes.
4. James was going to Audition for The X Factor as a soloist and asked the lads to join to form Eton Road.
5. They stayed at the Lowrey Hotel in Manchester the same time that Take That were.
6. They lads are like brothers now due to the time they spent with eachother during the X Factor.
7. Danny bought Leona Lewis's Single "A Moment Like This".
THE BIO
Eton Road are a hot UK BoyBand from Liverpool.
Members include; Daniel (Danny) Morris aged 18, Anthony Hannah also aged 18, James Edwards ages 21 and David Heath who is 19.
They auditioned for the X Factor after being together for only four days and suprisingly they god through!
They sung a song from the film "Leap Of Faith" called "Changes In My Life" but the lads like to call it "MaraHoo".
All the three judges were excited about these lads.
Simon said;
"It's an interesting mix and I thought your choice of song was brilliant."
Sharon mentioned;
"I thought you were fab!"
and last but not least Louis said;
"When you first walked in, I thought 'Oh God 4 Hairdressers!' And.. I'm totally taking it back - you were really good! One of the best groups we've seen in my opinion."
All three judges were sure they had to go through to the next stage which was Bootcamp.
At bootcamp the lads sang another song to Louis which was called "Up Where We Belong".
It didn't go as good as they expected it go, especially after Anthony forgot his lyrics.
However, Louis decided to give the lads another chance and put them through to the final 8 groups.
Unfortunately, Eton Road did not go through to the liveshows and their X Factor journey had seemed to of ended in Ireland.
Whilst Eton Road were back home in Liverpool thinking they were not through, the other boyband that did go through to the finals, appeared to have lived to the producers of the show and they were disqualified.
They had already had a manager behind the scenes. This boyband was called Avenue.
So Louis Walsh drived over to Liverpool to tell the boys the amazing news;
That they were back on the show and they'd be on the Live Stages to perform live to millions.
The lads only had a week to get prepared for the live shows - But the original acts that got put through had longer.
The first LiveShow theme was Motown week and they sang "My Girl" by the Temptations.
The judges were very positive and the boys were through next week.
In LiveShow number 2 they sang an old Rod Stewart song called "This Old Heart Of Mine".
Simon Cowell heard some false notes but they got enough votes to go through to the third liveshow.
LiveShow nubmer 3 was theme was Swing week and they sung "Mack The Knife" by Dean Martin.
Again, Simon wasn't very positive but the audience loved them and so did Sharon and Louis.
And yet again, They were through!
LiveShow 4, they got the chance to rehearse with Brian from Abba as obviously, the theme was Abba Week.
The lads sung "Does Your Mother Know" which a lot of people now think was their best performance to date.
Simon claims;
"That was the most camp performance I have ever seen"
Once again, everybody loved them! And they were through to the next LiveShow. That weeks show theme was Love Song week and the lads performed the Beatles classic "From Me To You".
Not everyone was positive about this song choice but the guys pulled it off.
And again, they were through to next week.
That weeks theme was Number Ones and the lads sung the Scissor Sisters hit "Don't Feel Like Dancing".
Sharon and Louis were positive about the boys performance but Simon thought it wasn't that good.
This ended up being the week the lads were in the Bottom Two with Robert Allen.
Eton Road got saved by Simon that week whilst Robert got voted off.
Only five acts left, and at LiveShow 7 every act was singing two songs instead of the usual one.
Eton Road's song choices were;
"Can you feel the love tonight" by Elton John and "Everybody needs somebody" by the Blues Brothers.
Simon, again didn't give them good comments and again the boys were in the bottom two with Ben Mills.
Unfortunately they were voted off by Simon.
The public were claiming it was a fix and that Simon only voted them off because he had bet £1000 on Ben to win.
I doubt we'll ever know.
All we know now is that it is defiantly not the end of Eton Road. This is just the beginning.
