Originally from the leafy shores of New Zealand, Kat has (after a few interesting years in Sydney and Helsinki) made her base in London, where she has been for the last 7 years and where her last album Arte all'Arte (Art for the Artists) was produced.
Kat's songwriting style appeals on many levels; her memorable melodies wrap themselves effortlessly around classically influenced accompaniments, while her lyrics paint vivid pictures of honest stories, places and people she has known during a multi-coloured, multi-cultured, roller-coaster adventure of a life so far. Her voice, not discovered until the relatively late age of 21 (she was too busy playing piano to realise she could sing) is silvery yet strong and seeps through the skin. Her first commercial success was as a writer on the second album of tenor sensation Russel Watson (Encore, Decca/Universal), followed by several commissioned works and performances for Taiwanese record lable "Voice of the Ganges". With these works she has toured extensively in Italy, Taiwan, New Zealand and Australia. These days she can be found on the London gig circuit, performing acoustic versions of songs from her first album, and trialling new works from the second album currently in production. ALBUM CREDITS: All songs written by Kat Cooper: Production & arrangement by Alfonso Esposito (La La Music): Additional Vocals and Instrumental Performances by Alfonso Esposito, Randolph Matthews, Leighton Jones, Marco Schnabl, Davide Ongaro.
