Having spent the nineties as a fully fledged Muso, writing songs and playing toilets throughout London and the Midlands, I'm now writing and playing for fun again after a break of a few years. As for real jobs, I've been a starter-motor/Alternator mechanic, worked in high street retail management (soooo very tedious) and am now happily involved working at one of the country's best loved museums. I have always had a strong interest in Nature/Ecology and the environment. I studied Environmental science at college while being a hairy (bleached), Bass playing alt.rock-head. I love living in London where I've been based for the last dozen years or so, seeking out and exploring every patch of green I can find. Hitting late thirties, I'm kind of wondering what happened! One minute it's 1993 and I'm banging out tunes to fellow hairy, grungy stoners, the next I'm "Joe real-job."
Anyone out there who remembers "Vinyl" Mat Black, (or any of my earlier, later or geekier incarnations!) feel free to get in touch. My plans...Keep writing songs - mellowed with age but still plenty of angst - just acoustic angst.
Continue my studies of the Natural World and hope to see more of it over the next decade before I'm too old to enjoy it - NZ, Oz, Canadian Rockies, Amazon next on list.
Oh...and feed the cat - life revolves around him - naturally. Remember, above all else...
